Summary:

The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for managing the nursing operations within a healthcare facility and ensuring high-quality patient care. This role involves supervising nursing staff, coordinating patient care, implementing policies and procedures, monitoring performance, and resolving issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise nursing staff to ensure quality patient care is delivered.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote safe and efficient patient care.
  • Monitor staff performance and patient satisfaction and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Coordinate patient care activities, including admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Participate in the hiring, training, and evaluation of nursing staff.
  • Manage and respond to patient complaints and concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality of patient information.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Provide ongoing education and training to nursing staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field.
  • Active nursing license in the state of employment.
  • Minimum of 5 years nursing experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Compassionate and caring attitude towards patients and their families.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in using computer software programs such as Microsoft Office and electronic medical records systems.
