Summary:

Nursing assistants provide hands-on care and support to patients in clinical settings under the supervision of registered nurses or licensed practical nurses. They assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, perform basic lab tests, document patient information, and maintain a safe and clean environment for patients.

Responsibilities:

• Assist patients with daily living activities
• Monitor patients’ vital signs
• Assist with ambulation and positioning of patients
• Assist with transferring patients to and from beds, wheelchairs, and other equipment
• Collect specimens and perform basic lab tests
• Document patient information
• Assist with patient care procedures
• Communicate with patients and their families regarding care plans and treatment options
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients
• Assist with emergency responses and other crisis situations

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a nursing assistant training program
• Certification as a nursing assistant (CNA)
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Physical ability to lift and move patients
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
• Adherence to ethical and professional standards of conduct
