Description
About Pop
Pop is one of Australia’s leading online speech pathology providers, delivering 100% telehealth services to paediatric and adult clients right across the country under NDIS and private funding. Our team of 85+ speech pathologists is united by our vision to By changing individual lives, we are creating an immeasurable ripple impact beyond words”
About The Role
We’re looking for a speech pathologist ready for a genuinely varied role that blends hands-on clinical work with being the first point of contact for families joining Pop. As our Clinical Intake Officer, you’ll be the warm, knowledgeable voice prospective clients hear when they first reach out, talking them through what speech pathology and telehealth actually involve, explaining funding pathways, and gathering the information our Intake & Matching Team needs to pair them with the right therapist. As a clinician, you’ll hold your own caseload of paediatric and/or adult clients, delivering the same high-quality, evidence-based therapy Pop is known for.
The split of the two roles will be approximately 60% clinical intake officer and 40% clinical – the exact balance will be shaped around your caseload capacity and the needs of the team. Time on discovery calls keeps you close to the full breadth of presentations coming through our door and sharpens your clinical reasoning; time in the clinic keeps your intake conversations credible and genuinely useful to families who are often navigating the system for the first time.
This role will suit a generalist speech pathologist who enjoys variety, is confident talking to new families about funding and the therapy journey, and wants a genuine say in shaping how Pop welcomes its newest clients, without stepping away from clinical practice.
About You
You’re a speech pathologist with:
- A true belief in telehealth and a strong understanding of this model of care. Bonus points for experience delivering online services.
- Warmth, empathy and confidence connecting with prospective clients and referrers.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to quickly ascertain a client’s perspective and needs and provide bespoke, practical advice.
- Strong case management skills across a broad scope of paediatric and adult speech pathology, with the clinical judgement to make holistic recommendations.
- Flexibility and adaptability to respond to each client’s individual circumstances.
- A strong understanding of funding for speech pathology services, including NDIS, Medicare and private health.
- A strong understanding of the NDIS, including applications, plan renewals and budgets.
- The ability to work independently and efficiently, with real attention to detail to follow the processes of intake.
- You enjoy working as part of the intake team to support the customer journey.
Your Commitment
- Based in Brisbane, working from our Hawthorne office.
- Minimum 0.8 FTE, worked across at least 4 days per week, exact hours negotiable.
- Willingness to build and manage your own clinical caseload alongside your intake responsibilities.
Our Commitment
- Comprehensive training in discovery calls and our intake systems.
- Laptop, clinical resources and budgets for subscriptions and therapy resources.
- Regular supervision and support from your Team Leader.
- Unlimited clinical supervision as required.
- Professional development allowance.
- Remuneration based on experience.
- A supportive, Brisbane-based team around you from day one.
