Description

Protecting what Australia builds, stores and grows

Tarpaulins, covers and protective solutions for the sites and operations that keep the country moving — mines, civil and construction projects, waste and remediation sites, warehouses and distribution centres.

Marsons has spent decades building a reputation for getting protection right. Recently acquired by Polytex, the business now has the backing of a growing national manufacturer — more production capability, a wider range of solutions, and the resources to serve customers across the country. Established name, bigger engine behind it.

Our ambition is straightforward: to be Australia’s first call for protection.

We’re looking for a Territory Sales Manager to grow that presence across the Eastern Seaboard.

About the role

You’ll own sales performance across metropolitan markets on the Eastern Seaboard, selling into a genuinely diverse set of industries — mining, environmental and remediation, waste management, construction, civil, warehousing and beyond.

This is a highly autonomous role. You’ll be based at our Melbourne facility in Campbellfield, but you’ll spend most of your time (60–70%) on the road and on site, in front of customers. If you do your best work when you’re trusted to run your own territory rather than sit at a desk, this will suit you.

You’ll report to the National Sales Manager and work alongside sales teams across the wider Polytex business.

What you’ll do

  • Build and hold long-term relationships with key customers and high-potential prospects, face to face.
  • Understand what each customer is actually trying to protect and recommend the right solution — not just the easiest sale.
  • Generate new business through networking, referrals, cold outreach and industry events.
  • Prepare and follow through on quotes and proposals, and see service issues through to resolution.
  • Manage your pipeline and territory data in HubSpot, and report on performance against clear sales KPIs.
  • Feed market and customer insight back to our product and production teams.
  • Represent Marsons at trade shows, industry events and customer sites.

What you’ll bring

  • A strong track record in account management and business development
  • Experience selling into one or more of: mining, environmental and remediation, waste management, construction, civil, or warehousing and industrial development
  • Genuine relationship-building skills, and the confidence to engage decision-makers
  • Strategic thinking — the ability to spot an opportunity and build a plan around it
  • Excellent time management, communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (HubSpot preferred) and Microsoft Office
  • A current Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel
  • Self-motivation, and comfort working independently as well as part of a team

Product expertise can be taught. We’re more interested in someone who gives honest advice, follows through on what they’ve promised, and is in it for the long haul.

What’s in it for you

  • Competitive base salary with performance-based incentives
  • Fully maintained company vehicle, laptop and mobile phone
  • A diverse product range and customer base — the chance to build industry-leading expertise and become a genuine trusted advisor to your customers
  • Real autonomy over how you run your territory
  • A purpose-driven, family-owned Australian manufacturer where a high-impact role is exactly that
  • The opportunity to shape growth in markets we’re actively expanding into

About Polytex

Polytex is an Australian manufacturing business built on a simple purpose: to protect what Australia works for — what it grows, stores and builds, on farm and on site.

We back that with unrivalled product knowledge, honest advice, and a commitment to finding the right solution rather than the quick one.

Marsons, one of Australia’s most established tarpaulin manufacturers, joined the Polytex group in a recent acquisition. It’s a combination that brings together Marsons’ long-standing expertise and customer relationships with the scale, manufacturing capacity and national reach of a growing Australian business — and this role sits right at the centre of that growth.
