This role is ideal for someone who leads with purpose, enjoys building strong teams, and wants to make a meaningful impact on how a business operates and grows.

The opportunity

Reporting directly to the Directors, you’ll play a pivotal role in the success of the firm by:

  • Leading the day-to-day operations of the practice
  • Managing, developing and supporting the team, including performance, engagement and wellbeing
  • Overseeing workflow, capacity and operational planning to support sustainable performance
  • Managing HR and people operations, with support from the +MORE Group Enablement team
  • Supporting financial performance, including billing cycles, cashflow and operational reporting
  • Embedding group-wide systems, tools and initiatives in a way that works for the local team
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, lift capability and make work simpler and smarter

You’ll be a trusted partner to the Directors – balancing strategic thinking with practical execution, and keeping the business and its people moving forward together.

About you

You’ll bring:

  • Experience in accounting or professional services, ideally within a public practice environment
  • Confidence working alongside Directors or Partners in a senior operational or people leadership role
  • Strong people leadership capability, with a grounded, approachable style
  • Experience across operations, HR, workflow or practice management
  • Exposure to Xero (preferred) and comfort using systems to drive insight and improvement
  • A curious mindset and a desire to keep learning, improving and evolving
  • Ambition to grow into a broader strategic or executive leadership role

  • Improve – We remain curious and committed to getting better every day
  • Enjoy – We value balance, fun and fulfilment at work

You’ll model these values every day – in how you lead, how you make decisions, and how you support others.

Why join us

  • A senior leadership role with real influence and visibility
  • Clear long-term growth and executive pathway for the right candidate
  • Support from a connected and experienced Group Enablement team
  • A values-led, collaborative culture focused on people and performance
  • Based in Whangārei, with flexibility and a genuine focus on balance
