The Role

We’re looking for a commercially savvy Senior Product Manager to join our Payments & Registrations team – the engine that has collected over $1 billion in payments for our partners. Your mission: remove financial friction and automate the busywork so volunteers spend less time chasing money and more time running their sport – and more people get to play.

You’ll own the full payments and registration experience – from how administrators set up and manage payments, through to how participants register and pay. As we expand internationally, you’ll also help make payments work in every new market we enter.

You’ll report into the Head of Product and work closely with our partnerships and commercial operations leads, alongside customer success, engineering and UX design. Hybrid working, 1–2 days per week in our Melbourne CBD office.

What You’ll Be Doing

Discovery & Research

  • Run user research with administrators and participants to understand payment pain points and unmet needs
  • Mine behavioural and payment-flow data for the insights that drive prioritisation
  • Stay close to customer success to validate assumptions and surface adoption barriers
  • Lead global market research ahead of every new launch – payments behaviour, local providers, tax, compliance and regulatory landscape – so we go in with our eyes open

Payments Adoption & Ecosystem Growth

  • Build a payments and shop offering that’s genuinely better than the alternatives clubs and organisations could use – adoption follows when product-market fit is real
  • Find new ways for clubs and organisations to take payments – ticketing, B2B payments between orgs, and other gaps in the ecosystem
  • Look across the full payments landscape in community sport and identify where we can make life easier for clubs and add real value
  • Make payment management effortless for administrators across an entire organisation

Registration & Conversion Optimisation

  • Own the registration experience end-to-end and optimise the flow for conversion at every step
  • Run experiments and systematically remove drop-offs across the registration and purchase journey
  • Make sure our payment methods meet community needs, and keep expanding the ways people can pay and play
  • Weave ecommerce and shop experiences into the registration flow so clubs can offer more to their members without adding friction

Commercial Prioritisation

  • Build the business case behind each initiative – efficiency gains, growth, strategic value – and use it to prioritise what most accelerates our mission and helps more people play
  • Make clear trade-offs between competing initiatives and bring stakeholders along on the reasoning – every choice should make sport easier to run or easier to play

Scaling Payments Globally

  • Help shape and execute our global payments strategy, partnering with finance, legal and engineering
  • Design flows that handle multiple currencies, tax and local compliance without the admin experience getting harder
  • Evaluate and integrate the right providers and rails for each market, balancing coverage, cost and conversion

AI Across the Job

  • Use AI throughout your own workflow – ideation, document creation, design, prototyping – and build your own AI-powered systems (Claude skills, scheduled agents, custom workflows) to make yourself more efficient
  • Vibe-code working prototypes and test them with real users before writing production code
  • Identify and champion smart uses of AI across the product – rethink how we serve administrators and participants, not how to build the same features faster
  • Bring new AI techniques into the team – don’t wait for them to be handed to you

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Five or more years in product management driving adoption across B2B and B2C audiences in SaaS, marketplace, retail or platform businesses
  • Strategic and hands-on – comfortable zooming out to set vision and direction, and zooming in to wrestle with the detail. Community sport is complex – multiple customer types, multiple sports, multiple markets – and you’ll need to hold all of it in your head without flattening the nuance
  • Payments expertise – hands-on building payment flows, mobile commerce and shop functionality, with a working understanding of payment economics (take rates, cost-to-serve, transaction unit economics)
  • Product-led growth track record – measurable lifts in adoption, engagement and revenue per user
  • AI fluency – you’re already AI-native, with AI woven through how you ideate, write, design and prototype. You can vibe-code working solutions end-to-end and test them with real users
  • High-growth startup or scale-up background – you know what it’s like to build in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment
