Description

About the role

PSA is building out its technology estate — and we’re looking for a senior engineer to help lead that build.

Over the next 12–24 months we’re standing up a refreshed member portal, a Salesforce-native storefront, and a custom CPD tool that will become the system of record for members’ continuing professional development. This isn’t maintenance work on legacy systems — it’s a genuine opportunity to design and build new applications from the ground up, and to establish the engineering practices that will shape how PSA builds software for years to come.

You’ll be the senior engineering voice in a small, close-knit Data & Technology team, working across the full stack — front-end, back-end, integration and databases — and owning what you build rather than handing it off to someone else.

What you’ll get to do

  • Build new, high-visibility applications — a member portal, a CPD tool, and a storefront that thousands of pharmacists will use
  • Establish PSA’s CI/CD pipelines and release practices from the ground up — you’ll define how we build, test and ship software, not just follow an existing playbook
  • Help build in-house development capability — as the lead engineer in a small team, you’ll shape engineering standards, tooling and ways of working alongside the rest of IT
  • Work across a hybrid on-prem and cloud environment, with real input into how that platform landscape evolves
  • Design the integration layer connecting PSA’s applications to our CRM, our cloud data platform, and the systems around them
  • Have broad technical ownership — because we’re small and dynamic, you won’t be boxed into a narrow function

What we’re looking for – essential

  • 6+ years building and operating production applications end-to-end — front-end, back-end, APIs and databases
  • Strong modern web development and API design skills, comfortable owning the full lifecycle from build to run
  • Experience integrating multiple systems (SaaS platforms, data stores, third-party services) via APIs, including authentication and SSO
  • Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of CI/CD and release management
  • Cloud hosting, application deployment and relational database design experience
  • Comfortable working across a changing set of platforms and tools, and able to help evaluate and adopt new ones
  • Proven ability to lead or work solo in a small team — self-directed, pragmatic, accountable for quality
  • Strong communication skills, including explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Desirable

  • Familiarity with Salesforce (Experience Cloud, native commerce), Boomi or similar iPaaS tooling, Microsoft Azure, and Git-based CI/CD
  • Exposure to a cloud data platform (Snowflake, Salesforce Data Cloud or similar)
  • Identity and authentication architecture experience
  • Payment platform experience (Stripe or similar)
  • Membership, education or not-for-profit sector experience
