Assistant Depot Manager – Welshpool

The Position

We’re looking for an experienced transport operations professional to join our General Freight Division as Assistant Depot Manager at our Welshpool depot. Reporting to the Depot Manager, you’ll help run the depot’s daily operations and lead a team of drivers and support staff.

In a typical day, you will:

• Communicate via phone, email, text, and Teams with customers, drivers, and internal teams to ensure all shipments are collected and delivered
• Update and maintain the driver roster
• Build freight quotes and strategies
• Ensure all staff adhere to compliance requirements, including Mass, Fatigue, DG, etc.
• Plan and implement special projects

You will need:

• Experience in transport or freight operations
• Experience supervising or managing staff
• Strong computer skills and confidence learning new systems
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Calm under pressure, with strong problem-solving skills
