About the Role

Applications are sought for a Payroll & HR Officer with payroll experience to join our high performing Administration Team. The Payroll & HR Officer ensures accurate processing of payroll and works closely with the school’s administration, leadership team, and staff to implement best practices.

The Payroll & HR Officer must exercise independent judgement in a confidential manner, utilise technical knowledge related to Award/Enterprise Agreement interpretation, payroll functions, establish and maintain a broad range of relationships, and offer support and sound advice to over 100 employees.

About You

  • At least three years’ experience in payroll, preferably in an educational or not-for-profit setting, or a large organisation with multiple awards.
  • Effective time management with flexibility and adaptability to maintain work output during periods of high pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Current working with children Blue Card or able to obtain.
  • Experience with Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, HRIS systems, and payroll software.
  • Empathetic and compassionate with strong morals and values.
  • Superior communications skills, demonstrating discernment, sensitivity and discretion.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational, analytical, initiative and problem-solving skills.
