Role Overview

Reporting to the Pre-Construction Manager, the Estimator plays a critical role in supporting business growth through the preparation of accurate, competitive, and compliant tenders. You will work closely with internal stakeholders across Revenue, Design & Engineering, and Delivery, as well as external clients, consultants, and vendors. This role is suited to a detail‑driven professional who thrives in a technically focused, fast‑paced environment and enjoys contributing to winning projects from concept through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyse project drawings, specifications, and documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates
  • Develop detailed costings for materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor services
  • Prepare and submit competitive tenders that meet all technical, commercial, and timeline requirements
  • Compile and manage bid and contract documentation, including schedules, RFIs, CDEs, and registers
  • Identify project risks relating to cost, scope, and delivery, and contribute mitigation strategies
  • Source and assess supplier and subcontractor pricing to ensure best value outcomes
  • Liaise with clients to clarify scope, respond to tender queries, and provide updates
  • Maintain and improve estimating databases, tools, and historical cost information
  • Ensure all estimates comply with relevant standards, regulations, and industry best practice

Skills & Experience

  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, cost control, and project delivery
  • Experience with estimating software and tools
  • 5+ years estimating experience in electrical, mechanical, and/or fire services within manufacturing, construction or consulting
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Self‑motivated with a high level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment
