Description

The Role

Reporting to the Pathways Project lead, the Pathways Project Coordinator- Para Sport Referrals & Communications, is responsible for strengthening national engagement and capability across the Para sport referral network. The role’s principal portfolio is the leadership, activation and ongoing development of Para Playmakers, PA’s dedicated online audience of allied health practitioners, education personnel, sporting staff and community referrers who play a critical role in identifying and connecting individuals with Para sport opportunities.

 

The role will support the strategic growth, engagement and impact of this audience, ensuring Playmakers are supported with clear information, targeted resources and consistent messaging that enhances their ability to influence early Para sport participation.

 

Working closely with PA’s Commercial, Communications and Brand team, the coordinator supports the development of audience-appropriate content, stories and resources that amplify Playmakers impact and drive awareness across priority sectors.

 

In addition to this recurring portfolio, the role will deliver discrete, time-bound projects that respond to identified gaps, priorities or opportunities within the Para sport system.

 

This is a fixed-term contract role until 30 June 2028 and can be based from our Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane office. It will require occasional interstate travel and weekend work.

 

The Person

You are a highly organised and process-driven coordinator who is comfortable managing communications, information and data across multiple initiatives and stakeholders. 

 

You bring practical experience coordinating digital communications, stakeholder engagement or comparable participant-focussed activity. You are confident working with data and customer relationship management systems, preparing reports and translating information into practical insights.

 

You communicate clearly, build constructive relationships and work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.

 

Knowledge of Para sport, digital marketing or Para athlete pathways would be beneficial but is not essential. Most importantly, you are curious and willing to build your understanding of accessible and inclusive engagement and the broader Para sport system.

 

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the ongoing engagement, communication and support of PA’s Para Playmakers audience, ensuring members receive clear information, resources and opportunities to contribute to Para sport awareness and connection.
  • Support engagement activities across the wider Para sport referral network, including allied health, education, sport, disability services, volunteers and community organisations.
  • Develop and coordinate the delivery of targeted communications for referrers and Playmakers, working with PA’s Commercial, Communications and Brand team to ensure that messaging is accurate, consistent and audience-appropriate.
  • Prepare and maintain accessible, high-quality information, digital content and capability-building resources that support referrers to confidently promote and connect individuals with Para sport.
  • Facilitate connections between Playmakers, referral networks, sporting organisations, SISSAS Para Units and system partners to support early engagement and referral pathways.
  • Coordinate Playmaker and referrer participation in Para sport events, activations and sector- specific engagements.
  • Track engagement activities, audience reach and referral interactions, maintaining accurate records and preparing summary insights for PA Leadership and partners.
  • Analyse engagement data and stakeholder feedback to identify gaps, emerging needs and opportunities to strengthen network capability and engagement.

Key Competencies

  • Strong organisational, administrative and communication skills with experience coordinating information across multiple stakeholders and platforms.
  • Experience coordinating digital communications, enquiries or referral initiatives.
  • Experience using Salesforce or a comparable customer relationship management (CRM) system.
  • Understanding of the project lifecycle with the ability to translate an agreed objective into a practical delivery plan and maintain momentum through to completion.
  • Ability to develop clear, accessible and audience-appropriate communications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship skills and a collaborative attribute.
  • Sound judgement when managing personal or sensitive information.
  • Interest in the Australian Sport system and Para sport athlete pathways is beneficial.

 Education and Training

  • Qualifications in sports management, communications, marketing, business administration, digital engagement or related discipline is preferable although not essential depending on experience.
  • Working with Children’s Check.
