The Role
Reporting to the Head of HR, this broad and hands-on role will support the day-to-day delivery of HR services across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, HR administration, engagement and people initiatives.
You will work closely with leaders and employees, providing practical support on routine HR matters while developing your generalist and employee relations capability under the guidance of an experienced Head of HR.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate recruitment activities, including advertising, candidate screening, interview scheduling, reference checks and pre-employment documentation.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a positive and well-organised employee experience.
- Respond to general HR enquiries and provide practical guidance to employees and leaders on policies, procedures and routine workplace matters.
- Support employee relations processes involving performance, conduct, probation, attendance and workplace concerns, escalating complex or sensitive matters to the Head of HR.
- Assist with the preparation of meeting documentation, correspondence, outcome letters and accurate case records.
- Maintain employee records and HR systems, ensuring information is accurate, confidential and up to date.
- Monitor probationary periods, compliance requirements, employee documentation and relevant lifecycle activities.
- Assist with employee engagement initiatives, surveys, training activities, recognition programs and other people projects.
- Prepare HR reports and help identify workforce trends relating to recruitment, turnover, absenteeism and employee engagement.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes, templates, policies and employee programs.
About You
You are an organised, approachable and solutions-focused HR professional who enjoys supporting both employees and leaders. You communicate professionally, exercise sound judgement and understand the importance of confidentiality, consistency and attention to detail.
You will bring:
- Previous experience in an HR Coordinator, HR Administrator or junior HR Generalist role.
- Some experience supporting recruitment, onboarding and employee lifecycle activities.
- An understanding of employee relations processes, with a willingness to further develop your capability in this area.
- Working knowledge of Australian employment legislation, Modern Awards and HR policies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Confidence working with HR systems, employee records and Microsoft Office applications.
- A relevant qualification in Human Resources, Employment Relations or a related discipline, or current study toward one.
- Experience within a hotel, hospitality or similarly fast-paced operational environment will be highly regarded.
- Knowledge of the Hospitality Industry (General) Award will be advantageous.
