We are looking for a highly motivated Assistant Accountant to join our Accounts Team at Oxworks state-of-the-art head office, located at 102 Magnesium Drive Crestmead.

 

The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Assistant Accountant is responsible for supporting the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining balance sheet integrity, and assisting with statutory compliance obligations.

  • Support the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
  • Assist with accurate balance sheet reconciliations and supporting workpapers.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management reports and financial analysis.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register, including asset additions, disposals, and depreciation calculations.
  • Support the preparation of BAS, FBT, payroll tax, and other statutory compliance requirements.
  • Support internal and external audit requirements by preparing schedules and documentation.
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial records and accounting systems.
  • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and reconciling items.

 

The Applicant

The Ideal Candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a finance related discipline
  • Demonstrated finance experience within a large & complex environment
  • Knowledge of SAGE ERP (preferred)
  • High level computer skills
  • Ability to work under limited supervision in a high transactional environment
  • High standards of accuracy and precision with strong organisational skills
  • High level of problem solving and analytical skills
