Ox Engineering is a local, family-owned engineering company based in Canning Vale. We manufacture and supply engineered products to the transport, mining, exploration and processing industries.

We are looking for an experienced CNC Press Brake & Laser Machine Operator to join our workshop team.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who has good sheet metal experience, can read drawings and takes pride in producing quality work.

About the Role

Working as part of our production team, you will be responsible for setting up and operating our machinery and producing sheet metal components to drawings and specifications.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

• Setting up and operating CNC Press Brake machinery
• Operating CNC Plasma/Laser cutting equipment
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Measuring, cutting, bending and forming sheet metal
• Loading and handling different lengths and types of steel
• Operating guillotines, bandsaws, drill presses and other workshop machinery
• Checking finished work for quality and accuracy
• Carrying out basic machine maintenance and housekeeping
• Working with the production team to keep jobs on schedule
• Following all WHS and workshop safety requirements

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, practical and takes pride in their work.

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience operating a CNC Press Brake, Laser or Plasma machine
• Sheet metal fabrication experience
• The ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Experience with cutting, bending, rolling and forming
• Good attention to detail
• A commitment to producing quality work
• Good understanding of workshop safety
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Current Forklift Licence
• Current Driver’s Licence

Previous Press Brake experience is preferred, however we are happy to consider someone with good sheet metal or machine operating experience who has the right attitude and is willing to learn.
