About the role:

We are currently seeking passionate and reliable Direct Support Workers to join our team across the Newcastle region.

Throughout the week you will have the opportunity to support individual clients with a range of barries include both physical, intellectual and psychosocial

You’ll provide support to people with disabilities helping them live comfortably and independently in their own homes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and toileting
  • Support clients with light household chores such as cleaning, laundry, and tidying to help maintain a safe and comfortable living environment.
  • Accompany clients to medical appointments, social outings, community events, and recreational activities, ensuring their safety and comfort while encouraging active participation.
  • Help plan, prepare, and serve meals according to individual dietary needs and preferences, supporting clients to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
  • Remind clients to take prescribed medications on time, and where qualified, assist with administration following care plans.
  • Provide social connection and support to client to help achieve goals

What we are looking for:

  • Certificate III or higher in Disability, Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent, preferred.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • NSW Driver’s License, comprehensive insurance and access to reliable transport
  • A caring, patient, and respectful approach to client support
  • Previous experience in disability or aged care (essential if you do not hold an industry qualification)
