We’re looking for an experienced Management Accountant – Community Services to join our Finance team. About the role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll be the primary finance business partner for our Community Services portfolio, working closely with operational leaders to provide trusted financial advice, reporting and commercial support.
You’ll play a key role in month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial compliance while helping managers make informed business decisions through meaningful analysis and strategic insights.
Key responsibilities
As our Management Accountant, you will:
- Lead the month-end close process, including journals, reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Prepare accurate monthly management reports, budgets and forecasts.
- Maintain the general ledger and complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Manage customer invoicing, direct debit runs and revenue recognition.
- Partner with operational managers to analyse financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Provide commercial advice, financial modelling and scenario analysis to support business initiatives and investment decisions.
- Monitor KPIs, analyse trends and deliver meaningful performance insights.
- Support internal and external audits while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across finance systems, reporting and business processes.
- Build strong relationships across the organisation as a trusted financial advisor.
About you
You’re an experienced Management Accountant who enjoys working closely with operational teams and influencing business outcomes through sound financial advice. You’ll bring:
- CPA or CA qualification.
- Minimum 8 years’ accounting experience within Australia.
- Strong experience in management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working across financial systems.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a team.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
Desirable experience
You’ll be highly regarded if you have experience in:
- NDIS or CHSP funded services.
- Audit processes.
- ERP implementations or multiple accounting systems.
- Business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
- Leading or mentoring finance team members.
