Design and Communications Assistant 2027
About the Role
The Design and Communications Assistant will design and communicate information about College events and activities. The timing of the work will be arranged to meet specific weekly deadlines. This role is for somebody with proven design skills and the ability to work to fixed deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing high-quality graphic designs for communication initiatives, using a variety of available channels and media as directed, to promote the range of events at Ormond College
- Designing and circulating the weekly “What’s On” email newsletter, collating information provided by staff
- Advising the Community Life team on placement of communications, and ensuring promotions are made available in printed poster format around the College, on table stands in the hall, and online as instructed, together with other students as directed
- Treating with utmost discretion any information of a strategic, personal or private nature encountered in the course of the work
- Editing pages and text on the GRAIL with event details and information, ensuring the website is up to date
- Ensuring administrative and communication processes are followed appropriately
- Other duties as directed by the Dean of Student Community
Eligibility
Applicants must be 18 years or older and 2nd or 3rd year Ormond residential student in 2027.
Successful applicants will also need to hold or obtain a Working with Children Check (Employee) and complete a GBV declaration if successful.
Students may hold a maximum of 2 casual Ormond roles at one time.
