Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Graduate Engineer to join our Construction team in Sydney’s CBD. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate, or an engineer with up to two years’ experience, to build a career in land development and infrastructure. Working under the guidance of experienced civil engineers and designers, you will support design development, technical documentation, contract administration, and site works — gaining broad exposure to how projects are delivered from drawing issue through to construction completion. Some local travel to project sites is required.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with the planning, execution, design, drafting, and finalisation of land development and infrastructure projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to Orion’s standards.
- Support the preparation of documentation required for authority and utility approvals.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities and tender documentation.
- Assist with contract administration, including meeting minutes, superintendent correspondence, and updates to project budgets and programs.
- Assist with site inspections and progress reporting of site works, using new technologies where required.
- Review and compile contractor quality assurance documentation, and perform self-checks under Orion’s Quality Assurance procedures prior to drawing issue.
- Contribute to good practice through templates, tools, and processes that support the ongoing growth of the business.
Selection Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- up to 2 years’ postgraduate experience in civil construction or land development (recent graduates encouraged to apply).
- Understanding of engineering principles and standards relevant to urban development and infrastructure.
- Effective time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships.
- Able to work both autonomously and within a team, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Experience with MS Office and MS Project is desirable.
- General Construction Induction Card (White Card) or willing to obtain.
