Origin Support Services is seeking compassionate, motivated, and reliable Disability Support Workers to join our growing team across Brisbane West, Bayside, Logan, Brisbane North, and surrounding regions.

We provide person-centred support to people living with disabilities, helping them build independence, achieve their goals, and actively participate in their communities. Our services include:

  • Supported Independent Living (SIL)
  • Community Access
  • Short-Term Accommodation (STA) and Respite Supports

This casual opportunity offers flexible shifts across a variety of locations and support settings, including weekdays, weekends, sleepovers, and overnight supports, with opportunities for ongoing employment for the right candidates.

About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide quality care and support to participants both in their homes and within the community. You will play an important role in promoting independence, choice, and control while ensuring all participants are treated with dignity, respect, and compassion at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting participants with daily living activities
  • Building positive and meaningful relationships with participants
  • Supporting participants to attend appointments and community activities
  • Providing support within a Supported Independent Living (SIL) environment
  • Assisting with community access, including shopping, recreation, and social activities
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised home environment
  • Completing domestic tasks such as meal preparation, laundry, and general household duties
  • Recording accurate shift notes and incident reports
  • Supporting participants in line with their NDIS goals and support plans
  • Ensuring participants’ rights, choices, privacy, and dignity are upheld at all times

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A current Driver’s Licence
  • Access to a reliable vehicle with third-party insurance
  • A current Yellow Card and Blue Card, or willingness to obtain them
  • Full Australian working rights
  • Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, sleepovers, and overnight supports
  • A positive, reliable, and participant-focused approach to support

Desirable Skills and Experience

While not essential, the following will be highly regarded:

  • Certificate III or higher in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care, Community Services, or a related field
  • Previous experience in disability support
  • Experience supporting participants with high-intensity support needs
  • Experience supporting participants living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), palliative care needs, or other complex physical support needs
  • Nursing qualifications or experience
  • Manual Handling training
  • Experience using hoists and other assistive equipment
