About the Role
As a Disability Care Worker, you will support participants to maintain independence, build daily living skills, and achieve their individual goals in a safe, respectful, and person-centred environment.
You will provide support to participants with a range of needs, including intellectual disability, complex care requirements, and behaviours of concern, while promoting dignity, choice, and meaningful participation in everyday life.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including showering, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene assistance
- Assist participants with daily living activities and household tasks
- Support participants with intellectual disability, including those requiring High Intensity Daily Personal Activities, in accordance with individual care plans and NDIS Practice Standards
- Facilitate community access, appointments, social engagement, and recreational activities
- Prepare meals and support participants in line with safe eating and mealtime management plans
- Administer or assist with medications in accordance with care plans and organisational procedures
- Implement Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSP) and behaviour support strategies consistently
- Encourage routine, skill development, independence, and community participation
- Complete accurate progress notes, incident reports, and documentation
- Communicate effectively with participants, families, coordinators, and multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support aligned with individual goals
- Promote independence and confidence through structured routines
- Deliver personal care and daily living assistance
- Follow Positive Behaviour Support Plans where required
- Complete accurate progress notes anddocumentation
- Adhere to compliance, safety, and organisationalprocedures
- Communicate effectively with coordinators and team members
Availability Expectations
- Flexibility across day, evening, active overnight, weekend and public holiday shifts
- Ability to travel between participant locations when required
- Reliable and consistent approach to scheduled shifts
- Professional communication and proactive work ethic
Mandatory Requirements
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- NDIS Supporting Safe and Enjoyable Meals Module
- Current First Aid & CPR Certification
- Medication competency or willingness to obtain
- Current driver’s licence and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle
