About the Role
This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Manager who is passionate about creating efficient, high-performing warehouse operations and developing successful teams. Based in Lane Cove West, you will be responsible for overseeing all daily warehouse activities across Novis Healthcare’s warehouse facilities, ensuring industry-leading inventory accuracy management, effective freight and transport cost management, operational efficiency, outstanding customer service, and compliance with quality and safety standards. Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will play a critical role in supporting the continued growth of the business by optimising warehouse performance, leading and developing your team, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
- Oversee and manage the complete warehouse process lifecycle, from receiving and storage through to picking, packing, and dispatch.
- Ensure warehouse operations are aligned with business objectives, customer expectations, and company procedures.
- Drive operational efficiency, productivity, accuracy, and service levels across all
warehouse activities.
Inbound and Outbound Logistics
- Ensure the timely and accurate receipt of inbound stock, equipment, and materials.
- Manage outbound logistics to ensure orders are accurately picked, packed, and dispatched within required timeframes.
- Monitor freight carrier performance, negotiate and manage freight providers, and actively identify opportunities to reduce freight spend while maintaining service standards.
- Coordinate with suppliers, freight providers, and couriers to ensure high performing supply chain operations.
Inventory and Consumables Management
- Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy across all product categories and storage locations.
- Monitor and control warehouse consumables, including packaging and operational supplies.
- Own and manage the warehouse cycle count program, including count scheduling, investigation of discrepancies, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- Develop robust inventory control processes to minimise stock variances, inventory write-offs, and operational errors.
- Ensure all stock movements, transfers, adjustments, and inventory transactions are processed accurately within ERP systems.
Resource Planning and Cost Management
- Plan workforce requirements to effectively manage changing workloads and business priorities.
- Monitor operational costs including labour, warehouse consumables, equipment maintenance, and freight-related activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and optimise operational performance.
Quality, Safety and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment for all team members.
- Support and uphold Novis Healthcare’s Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2015).
- Ensure warehouse processes align with internal quality, compliance, and operational standards.
Leadership and Team Development
- Lead, mentor, coach, and develop a high-performing warehouse team.
- Foster a positive culture built on teamwork, accountability, communication, responsibility, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance management, training, and staff development activities.
Stakeholder Engagement and Continuous Improvement
- Act as the key point of contact for internal departments including Sales, Customer Service, and Operations.
- Build strong working relationships with suppliers, freight providers, and external stakeholders.
- Support the Head of Operations with projects, process improvements, and strategic initiatives.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve warehouse systems, processes, and customer outcomes.
About You
You are a hands-on leader who enjoys being actively involved in warehouse operations while maintaining a strategic focus on continuous improvement and team development.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience in a Warehouse Manager, Logistics Manager, or Distribution Centre leadership role.
- 3-5 year’s experience as a Warehouse Manager or similar positions.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, logistics, and supply chain principles.
- Experience leading, motivating, and developing warehouse teams.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work autonomously.
- High attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence.
- Experience using SAP Business One (SAP B1) or similar ERP systems.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety, quality, and compliance standards.
- Strong Excel and analytical skills are a plus.
