We are currently seeking a Dental Assistant / Receptionist to join our Perth team based in Applecross on a maternity leave contract through until July 2027. We’re open to either a casual or fixed term part-time arrangement, and for the right person, there may be an opportunity for the role to transition into a permanent position.
The Role
This is a varied role that combines both clinical assisting and front office responsibilities. You’ll support our clinicians chairside while also providing a welcoming and professional experience for patients at reception.
Working closely with the clinical and administrative team, you’ll play an important role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice while delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting clinicians during a range of dental procedures
- Preparing treatment rooms and patients for clinical treatment
- Taking X-rays and dental impressions
- Sterilising instruments and maintaining infection control standards
- Supporting patients with post-treatment care instructions
- Greeting patients and providing exceptional customer service
- Managing appointments, phone calls, and patient enquiries
- Processing payments and maintaining accurate patient records
- Supporting scheduling, patient flow, and general practice administration
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and professional clinical environment
- Working collaboratively with the wider team to ensure an outstanding patient experience
About You
You’re professional, organised, and genuinely passionate about patient care. You enjoy variety in your day, are confident working across both clinical and reception duties, and thrive in a supportive team environment.
You’ll bring:
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant, Dental Receptionist, or in a dual DA/Reception role
- Knowledge of dental terminology and clinical procedures
- Confidence taking X-rays and dental impressions (or willingness to learn)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisational skills with great attention to detail
- A proactive, flexible, and positive attitude
- A strong understanding of patient confidentiality and professionalism
Highly Regarded
- Experience within implant or surgical dentistry
- Knowledge of dental practice management software
- Certificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent experience
