  • THE ROLE

    Community and Residential Aged Care Physiotherapy

    The successful candidate will have a mixed role in the community and an Aged Care Home. A typical day to day role of a mixed role therapist will involve:

  • Assessing neurological/musculoskeletal function and creating and implementing a systematic treatment plan to address needs and impairments.
  • Communicate identified needs with the client, families, providers and appropriate referral to the relevant Health Professional / Specialist.
  • Prescription of appropriate mobility / adaptive aids as well as home modifications depending on your scope of practice.
  • Working collaboratively within an Allied health team.
  • Continuously review current treatment plans and adjust accordingly.
  • Re-assessments of consumers within the nursing home.
  • Manual handling training for staff within the nursing home.
  • Implementing rehabilitation programs within the nursing home.

  • A passion for providing quality care in the aged care and community sectors
  • Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Physiotherapy
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance
  • Valid Police Check and Working with Children’s Check
  • Current driver’s license and access to a registered and insured vehicle
  • Experience in Aged Care desirable but not essential
