Description

As Fleet Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operation, maintenance, safety and compliance of Nganampa Health Council’s diverse vehicle fleet, supporting the delivery of essential health services across the APY Lands and Alice Springs.

Managing a fleet that includes light and heavy vehicles, ambulances and trailers, you will coordinate servicing, repairs, breakdown recovery, registrations, insurance claims and vehicle movements. You will also maintain accurate fleet records, oversee vehicle tracking and safety systems, manage pooled vehicle bookings, and support fleet purchasing, fit-outs, replacement planning and disposal.

This is a hands-on operational role requiring sound mechanical knowledge, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond calmly to urgent and unexpected vehicle issues. You will work closely with staff, suppliers, mechanics and service providers to ensure vehicles remain safe, compliant and available when needed.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Sound mechanical knowledge or relevant vehicle maintenance experience
  • Experience in fleet coordination, workshop administration, procurement or vehicle asset management
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Confidence working with suppliers, quotations, purchase orders and invoices
  • Good computer skills and the ability to maintain accurate records and reports
  • A current driver’s licence and confidence driving manual vehicles
  • The ability to work respectfully and effectively within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation and a cross-cultural environment

Regular travel to the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands is an important requirement of the position.
