Social Support Group Coordinator – Part time

(14 hours per week)

Newtown Neighbourhood Centre (NNC), is a highly regarded community organisation located in the heart of the Inner West. We are seeking to recruit a friendly and outgoing Social Support Group Coordinator to join our Aged Services team and faciliate a range of engaging and fun social activities for seniors from the CFFYugoslavia.

 

We are looking for someone who has:

 

  • Commitment to the values of Newtown Neighbourhood Centre.
  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications and/or minimum 3 years experienceworking with older people
  • Demonstrated experience in the planning and implementation of group programs for older people.
  • Demonstrated experience in carrying out risk assessments and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage, support and coordinate a small team of staff and volunteers.
  • High level written and verbal communications skill.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Cultural Safety issues and diversity.
  • Commitment to ensuring high levels of health and safety for staff, volunteers and clients.
  • A current driver’s licence and safe driving record.
  • Ability to communicate fluentlyin Croation and/or Serbian.

 

About the Opportunity

  • 14 hours per week across 2 x days (Mondays and first Thursday of the month essential)
  • Above award conditions and pay (SCHADsAward, Level 4 -hourly rate based on 35 hour working week, plus salary packaging, additional leave and flextimearrangements available)
