Newman College is a Roman Catholic co-educational residential college affiliated with the University of Melbourne. Guided by Catholic and Jesuit values, we are committed to fostering leadership, learning, service and community.
We are seeking a proactive Reception & Administration Officer to be the welcoming face of the College and provide administrative support across student services, events, communications and general College operations.
About the Role
This is a diverse and rewarding role where no two days are the same. As the first point of contact for students, staff and visitors, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional service while supporting the smooth operation of the College.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing reception, phone and email enquiries.
- Supporting student onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Maintaining student records and administrative systems.
- Coordinating key management and access processes.
- Assisting with College events and maintaining event calendars.
- Supporting the publication of the College newsletter.
- Managing mail, parcels and general office administration.
- Preparing surveys, reports and administrative documentation.
- Maintaining office supplies, directories and operational records.
About You
You are a highly organised administrator with excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to customer service.
You will bring:
- Previous experience in an administrative or reception role.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A professional, friendly and customer-focused approach.
- Strong Microsoft 365 skills.
- The ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
- Experience working with databases, student management systems or online forms (desirable)
- Experience supporting events, newsletters or communications (desirable)
