We are seeking a 2IC (Second-in-Charge) to support the House Supervisor in running our SIL homes and ensuring everything operates smoothly, safely, and in line with participant needs and NDIS standards.
About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership role within a SIL home environment. You will play a key role in supporting day-to-day operations, guiding staff on shift, and ensuring participant care is delivered consistently and to a high standard. You will act as the go-to person on shift, helping maintain structure, accountability, and clear communication across the team. In the absence of the House
Supervisor, you will step into a leadership capacity to ensure continuity of care and operations.
Key Responsibilities
Support to House Operations
- Assist in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring routines and supports are implemented consistently Support coordination of daily activities in line with participant care plans and routines
- Assist with after-hours processes and shift coverage where required
Staff Leadership & On-Shift Support
- Provide guidance and direction to support workers on shift
- Support onboarding and development of new and existing staff
- Promote consistency, accountability, and adherence to processes
Monitoring & Documentation
- Ensure all shift tasks, case notes, and reporting are completed accurately and on time
- Maintain high standards of documentation in line with compliance requirements
Risk & Incident Management
- Identify and escalate risks, incidents, or changes in participant presentation
- Ensure effective handovers and communication across shifts
Environment & Standards
- Support a safe, clean, and structured home environment
- Maintain consistent household standards across all shifts
Continuity of Care
- Step into operational leadership when the House Supervisor is not present
- Ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of the home and escalate where required
🧠 About You
- Experience in a lead or senior support role within disability or community services
- Strong understanding of NDIS standards, SIL operations, and participant rights
- Confidence managing complex needs and behaviours of concern
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
- Ability to support and guide a team while maintaining structure and accountability
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Desirable:
- Certificate IV or higher in Disability, Community Services, or similar
- Experience with behaviour support and trauma-informed care
- Experience with rostering, reporting, or team coordination
