Description

Natural Area Consulting Management Services is seeking a Graduate Environmental Consultant to join our Perth-based environmental consulting team. This is a graduate role for an organised and technically capable environmental professional with knowledge of Western Australian flora, fauna, and regulatory frameworks.

 

You will play a key role in supporting meaningful environmental outcomes on projects across Western Australia, while being mentored and developing your skills as an environmental consultant. The position involves a balance of office-based work in Malaga and fieldwork across metropolitan and regional WA.

The Opportunity

As a Graduate Environmental Consultant, you will report to the Principal Environmental Consultant and your responsibilities will include:

  • Drive environmental projects forward by supporting field surveys, site assessments, and technical investigations across metropolitan and regional Western Australia.
  • Turn complex environmental data into clear, insightful reports, maps, and project documentation that help clients make confident decisions.
  • Work alongside experienced consultants to navigate environmental approvals, compliance requirements, and regulatory processes with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Contribute to meaningful on-ground outcomes by assisting with monitoring programs, ecological observations, and practical environmental management initiatives.
  • Build strong project delivery skills by coordinating tasks, maintaining high-quality records, and helping keep fast-moving consulting projects on track.
  • Grow your expertise every day through mentoring, collaboration, and hands-on exposure to diverse environmental challenges and solutions.

 

What are we looking for? Your qualification, licences, skills & experiences

Successful applicants must have the following qualifications:

  • Completed bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Environmental Science or a related discipline.
  • Current WA Manual Driver’s Licence (C Class or higher).
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Police Clearance.

Candidates who can demonstrate the following skills, knowledge & experiences will be looked upon favourably:

  • Regulatory knowledge: Understanding of WA and Australian environmental legislation, approvals, and compliance processes.
  • Technical proficiency: Competence in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Copilot) and familiarity with GIS and environmental data tools.
  • Field experience: Hands-on experience conducting environmental fieldwork, site assessments, and monitoring programs in WA.
