About the Role:

Lead the Kalgoorlie workshop team to promote an engaged, productive, and committed workforce. Ensure operational requirements and deadlines are met and customer service levels are maintained. Improve workflow efficiency, forecasting and planning. 8 days on 6 days off roster. Worked back-to-back with current Workshop Supervisor.

  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example to promote a positive commitment to company values, safety, and workshop systems
  • Manage the coordination & scheduling of workshop and field service job requirements, including maintenance, fabrication, electrical and testing
  • Ensuring efficient operation of equipment by establishing preventative maintenance & servicing schedules
  • Ensure procurement of cost-effective spare parts & identify requirements to ensure availability
  • To act in the absence of Manager, fulfil all obligations in accordance with legislative requirements, company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and coordinate any tasks to be completed to maintain compliance with OHS and other legislative requirements
  • Ensure completion of daily paperwork including, but not limited to, job sheets, toolbox meetings, pre-starts, and timesheets for approval
  • Proactively work with HSEQ for any incidents/issues within the scope of your department
  • Proactively be involved in relevant meetings and reviews, and communicate to ensure that your team has a clear understanding of any expectations, policies or procedures implemented by NPE
  • Manage rostering requirements to ensure that personnel availability meets requirements for job schedules
  • Identify and communicate initiatives to improve workshop & field service cost, safety, and efficiency
  • Ensure that the workshop and field service locations are maintained to a safe, tidy, and professional standard
  • Ensure that all personnel understand health & safety obligations and apply these in daily tasks
  • Work with HR & HSEQ to ensure that all personnel have valid and current licences, medicals and competencies as required for their role
  • Manage any grievances or issues raised by employees in a timely manner and in accordance with company policies and procedures

 

Skills & Experience:

 

Essential:

  • Trade Qualification (Mechanical, Diesel Fitter, Fabrication or similar)
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Experience in a workshop supervisory role (or similar)
  • Demonstrated understanding of relevant plant, equipment, pipe works and installations
  • Demonstrated high level of problem-solving skills
  • Proven leadership ability to develop, empower and motivate employees to obtain the required objectives
  • Results driven, solutions focused and highly organised
  • Exposure to heavy vehicles and machinery
  • Intermediate computer skills for applications in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • High Risk Forklift Licence (LF)

Desirable:

  • Senior First Aid
  • Current HR Driver’s Licence
