About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Water Treatment Technician to join our Welshpool team. This full-time role is ideal for a motivated individual looking to develop their skills and grow within an industry-leading organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain and troubleshoot water treatment equipment, including pumps, pipework and associated system
  • Conduct fault finding and implement solutions to address groundwater quality issues
  • Assess field conditions and apply appropriate treatment processes
  • Monitor and adjust groundwater discharge quality
  • Install and maintain pipework, repair leaks and perform preventative maintenance
  • Monitor and optimise treatment processes
  • Respond to and resolve alarms via SCADA systems and customer portal
  • Complete maintenance tasks in line with CMMS and established procedures
  • Liaise with customers and the public regarding groundwater discharge quality
  • Support the ongoing maintenance of industrial water treatment systems

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Current C-Class Driver’s Licence
  • Strong knowledge of water treatment processes and chemical handling
  • Understanding of Western Australian discharge criteria and compliance requirements
  • Experience in water sampling and laboratory procedures
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Experience maintaining valves, pumps, pipelines, and mechanical/electrical equipment
  • Experience commissioning water treatment systems in the field
  • Sound knowledge of water treatment technologies
  • High attention to detail and strong time management skills
  • Mechanical aptitude, with plumbing and/or electrical exposure
  • Basic understanding of chemistry

Desirable

  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and technical drawings
  • Experience with centrifugal and diaphragm pumps
  • PVC-U fitting experience
  • Construction Induction (White Card)
  • Electrical trade qualification
  • Background in plumbing, fitting, or mechanical trades
  • HR (HIAB) truck licence
  • Experience operating PLC and HMI systems
  • Qualification in Water Industry or Treatment Operations
