About the Role:
Based at the Burleigh Heads Branch Clearpro or Meadowbrook Branch NPE. The successful applicant will have effective planning and execution of project works, experience related to water treatment, environmental monitoring, and regulatory compliance for dewatering and water treatment projects.
The position plays a critical role in ensuring that all project activities meet local and state legislation, providing expert knowledge in water treatment systems, developing detailed reports and management plans, and developing a positive relationship with both internal teams and external stakeholders. The role also involves the installation, operation, and maintenance of dewatering and water treatment equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertaking field investigations, site inspections and environmental monitoring (surface water sampling, low flow groundwater sampling, groundwater level monitoring, soil sampling).
- Working on site to collect, analyse and interpret environmental data.
- Assisting with and/or preparing technical reports for client presentation.
- Support and assist the water treatment team to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
- Conduct a variety of process tests, water treatment operations and maintenance.
- Responsible for undertaking site inspections to identify risks or issues prior to mobilisation to site.
- Oversee scheduled field work to ensure correct field sampling and laboratory analyses are undertaken.
- Ensure the ongoing maintenance of all monitoring and field measurement equipment.
- Accountability for routine soil and water work in the field as required (sampling of groundwater, dewatering discharge; soil; ground gas; air quality and completing soil watching briefs).
- Provision of assistance in daily project operational processes and requirements.
- Supervision of all projects in relation to the environmental monitoring and maintenance requirements.
- Responsible for liaising with clients in relation to any issues that arise and providing resolutions and escalating where a resolution is outside of your scope.
- Interpretation and analysis of field and laboratory results to effectively relay findings to relevant internal employees or clients.
- Ensure project expenses are within project budget, where appropriate
- Prepare and complete laboratory paperwork to ensure laboratory analyses requested meet project requirements.
- Maintain effective and professional communication with colleagues and supervisors regarding workload and tasks to ensure project milestones are met in a timely manner.
- Maintain effective communication with laboratories to ensure requested results are delivered in a timely manner.
- Maintain high level of communication with other teams to ensure multi-discipline projects are delivered in a timely, efficient manner.
- Development of figures and tables for scientific reports.
- Development of basic scientific reports and management plans to Supervisor/Manager and clients.
- Undertakes all activities in accordance with company and current.
regulatory environmental and occupational health and safety requirements.
Essential:
- Current Drivers Licence.
- Bachelor of Science/Environmental Science (or similar).
- Construction white card, general construction site experience (or willing to obtain).
- Demonstrated knowledge of Queensland and Commonwealth environmental legislation and statutory processes.
- Experience and knowledge in environmental management practices, storm and groundwater management, compliance monitoring and reporting.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Patient, flexible and adaptable to changing and challenging circumstances with great problem-solving skills.
- Sound report writing skills.
- Excellent time management and an ability to juggle multiple competing priorities.
- Ability to work well with other team members and champion the NPE brand.
- Ability to work with flexibility and initiative with limited direction or supervision.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Queensland and Commonwealth environmental legislation and statutory processes.
Desirable:
- Experience in the Rental, Mining, Construction or Heavy industries.
- Mobile water treatment plant experience and intermediate water chemistry knowledge.
- 3-5 years of relevant environmental consultancy or industry experience.
- The ability and willingness to undertake site work locally and interstate.
- Previous experience within the water treatment industry is not needed but is an advantage.
