Project Officer, Emerging Leaders and Governance Training Program

The National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) is the national peak body representing 148 Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs). ACCHOs deliver comprehensive primary health care to more than half of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples nationally. 

About the Role 

This position supports the delivery of the Emerging Leaders Governance and Executive Leadership Training and Support Program, an initiative designed to strengthen leadership capability across the ACCO/ACCHO sector. The role contributes to building and supporting the next generation of leaders through the coordination and delivery of governance workshops in partnership with state and territory affiliates, NACCHO staff and pro bono legal professionals. The position also supports the implementation of a residential leadership program for emerging leaders, delivered by a specialist external provider.

Responsibilities of this role but not limited to: 

• Support the management of operational aspects of project, including scheduling workshops and meetings, coordinating travel and accommodation, arranging venues and catering, preparing materials, preparing minutes, and managing invitations and communications.
• Prepare progress reports, briefing papers and presentations on a range of project activities for internal and external stakeholders.
• Drive participant attendance and engagement and monitor workshop outcomes and participant feedback to inform continuous improvement.

About You 

To succeed in this role, you will bring: 

• Tertiary qualification in governance or equivalent is highly desirable
• Experience in stakeholder engagement and advocacy.
• Demonstrated experience in organising and coordinating workshops and prioritising workloads
• Experience working in the organisational governance – specifically in the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health (ACCH) sector is highly desirable
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A valid WWCC clearance and National Police Check, or ability to obtain
