About the role:
The Account Manager – Specialty is responsible for driving new business growth across MYMC’s Specialty channel, including Gyms & Fitness Centres, Supplement Stores, Pharmacies, Caterers, Industrial & Mining, Education, Vending, and Export markets.
This role focuses on identifying and securing new customer opportunities, building strong commercial partnerships, and expanding the distribution of MYMC’s ready-to-eat meal and non-meal product ranges. Working closely with the National Business Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering channel growth by converting leads into long-term strategic accounts.
Key Responsibilities but not limited too:
Key Account Management & Revenue Growth:
- Drive sustainable revenue growth through the strategic management of a customer base
of Specialty customers.
- Revenue Performance: vs. LY and Budget
- Prospecting for new business: To lead the negotiation and conversion against new opportunities. With prospecting for new business projected to occupy 80% of the time in role.
Strategic Planning & Market Intelligence
- Develop and execute strategic initiatives based on market insights and competitive analysis.
- Market analysis: Obtained through time in market across key states, analysis of key reporting, and clear understanding of competitor activity in the Ready to Eat Meals and
Protein / Nutritious Snacks categories
- Key Initiative execution: Development of key initiatives that translate into activation plans, delivered in a timely fashion to support MYMC strategic priorities
Operational Excellence & Efficiency
- Ensure the efficient operations and processes that support business growth through the Commercial team.
- Process efficiency: Working to reduce inefficiency in order processing and non-value add
administration tasks
- Cost Management: Maintain sales costs within appropriate budget parameters
- Compliance:100% compliance with company policies and any industry regulations. With any audits and compliance checks administered on time and in full to satisfactory levels.
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration:
- Build strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders to drive business success.
- Cross-functional collaboration – effective partnership with Marketing, Supply Chain and Finance teams. With proven experience at leading cross functional projects to drive key Commercial outcomes
- Customer Relationship strength: Working with all senior stakeholders in Key Accounts to ensure relationships are at the highest level, above industry standard.
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years in account management within FMCG, preferably in Specialty or related channels of business.
- Demonstrated experience with prospecting for new business, coupled with strong negotiation capabilities.
- Must be a go getter & have the mindset to win new sales & maintain relationships.
- Analytical mindset with P&L experience.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong influencing and communication skills.
- Ability to travel to regional and interstate locations as so required.
- Must hold a valid & current driver’s license as you will be required around Sydney on a weekly basis.
