About the role

Muru Mittigar is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Litter Collection Crew Leader to lead a land management team delivering litter collection services along the M7 motorway.

This hands-on leadership role is responsible for supervising the crew, maintaining service quality, supporting employee development, managing workplace safety and building professional relationships with clients. The successful candidate will lead by example, ensure work is completed to company and client standards, and maintain accurate operational records.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise litter collection activities along the M7 motorway and surrounding areas.
  • Coordinate daily work activities in consultation with the Operations Manager and clients.
  • Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to required quality standards.
  • Supervise broader land management activities when required, including mowing, brush cutting, spraying, fencing, planting, weeding and landscape maintenance.
  • Complete timesheets, equipment registers, data entry and other required operational records.
  • Train, mentor and support team members.
  • Promote a positive, engaged and high-performing workplace culture.
  • Ensure WHS policies, procedures, reporting requirements and site controls are understood and followed.
  • Liaise professionally with clients and escalate technical or compliance matters to the appropriate manager.
  • Identify opportunities to improve work practices, service consistency and team capability.

Essential requirements

  • Experience leading a technical, operational or land management team.
  • Strong leadership, planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing budgets and an understanding of commercial operations.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with employees, clients and other stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • High level of personal accountability and responsibility.
  • Understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal history, traditions and practices.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and workplace safety.
  • Current manual driver licence.
  • M7 induction.
  • White Card, or willingness to obtain.
  • Provide First Aid qualification, HLTAID011, or willingness to obtain.

Desirable

  • Traffic control tickets.
