About the Role

Due to increased workload and preparation for the upcoming summer season, Muru Mittigar is seeking two casual Arboriculture Team Members to join our growing Arboriculture team.

This is a hands-on role working alongside experienced arborists delivering tree maintenance, vegetation management and arboriculture services across a range of sites across Sydney.

The successful applicants will have at least 2-3 years’ experience in arboriculture, vegetation management, landscaping, grounds maintenance or a similar outdoor industry. You will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, enjoy working outdoors and take pride in delivering high-quality work.

This role is physically demanding and requires the ability to undertake activities such as lifting, carrying equipment, feeding chippers, brush cutting, working around tree crews, operating equipment and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Arboriculture Team Members are recognised within Muru’s Country division workforce structure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with tree maintenance and arboriculture operations 
  • Support tree pruning and removal activities under supervision 
  • Operate brush cutters, chainsaws and other equipment where qualified and authorised 
  • Assist with chipping, mulching and site clean-up activities 
  • Maintain safe work practices and comply with WHS requirements 
  • Work effectively as part of a crew to deliver high-quality outcomes for clients 
  • Undertake vegetation management and general ground crew duties 
  • Maintain equipment and vehicles in a safe and serviceable condition 
  • Represent Muru Mittigar professionally on worksites and in the community

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in arboriculture, vegetation management, landscaping or a related field 
  • Current Construction White Card 
  • Current Class C Driver Licence and reliable transport 
  • Ability to undertake physically demanding outdoor work 
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety 
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment 
  • Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment

Desirable

  • Certificate III in Arboriculture (AHC30816) or equivalent qualification 
  • Chainsaw qualifications 
  • Traffic Control qualifications 
  • AQF3 Chemical Application Accreditation 
  • Working With Children Check 
  • First Aid Certificate 
  • Experience operating chippers and other arboriculture equipment
