Description

Expression of Interest: This is an Expression of Interest for future opportunities. By submitting your application, you'll join our talent community and be considered when an opening matches your profile.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

You’ve done the study. You’ve got the foundations. Now you want the career.

Maybe you’re working as a Client Services Officer, Associate Adviser or Paraplanner and asking yourself what comes next. Or maybe you’ve recently finished your financial planning degree and you’re looking for the right place to start. Either way, you know you want to sit across the table from clients and give advice yourself. What you need is a firm that’s serious about getting you there.

At Morgans, we’re committed to building our next generation of skilled, confident and ethical financial advisers. We’re inviting expressions of interest from people ready to complete their Professional Year with us, so you can be first in line as opportunities open across our network.

ABOUT MORGANS

Morgans is Australia’s largest national full-service stockbroking and wealth management network, with 40 years of experience. Our advisers are backed by a comprehensive range of research, attractive corporate investment opportunities, marketing tools, systems, support and training to help them build their business. You get the strength of a national firm with the feel of a local branch team.

WHAT YOU’LL GAIN

  • A structured Professional Year Program designed to build your capability and confidence
  • A clear pathway to becoming an authorised financial adviser
  • Mentoring from experienced advisers who want to see you succeed
  • Exposure to client meetings and real advice conversations from early on
  • Access to Morgans’ award-winning research and investment insights
  • Support to pass the ASIC Financial Adviser Exam
  • Discounted fee arrangements with selected education providers
  • Ongoing professional development and technical training

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Working alongside advisers to deliver great outcomes for clients
  • Preparing for and taking part in client and prospect meetings
  • Supporting advice preparation, research and strategy discussions
  • Helping implement advice recommendations
  • Managing client communications and follow-up
  • Maintaining accurate client records and meeting compliance requirements
  • Gradually taking on more responsibility as your advice capability grows

WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU

  • Have completed, or are completing, an approved qualification with a financial planning major
  • Are ready to start your Professional Year, or have already begun and want the right home to finish it
  • Have experience in a financial planning, wealth or stockbroking environment (highly regarded, but not essential)
  • Are genuinely passionate about helping clients achieve their financial goals
  • Communicate clearly and build relationships with ease
  • Are organised, proactive and happy to take ownership
  • Want a long-term career in financial advice, not just another support role

HOW THE PATHWAY WORKS

Our Professional Year is a minimum of 12 months of supervised experience with Morgans as your licensee. You’ll need to pass the ASIC Financial Adviser Exam by the end of the second quarter, and you can sit it before you start if you prefer. Once you’ve successfully completed the year, your registration on the ASIC Financial Advisers Register moves from provisional financial adviser to financial adviser.

REGISTER YOUR INTEREST

At Morgans, we don’t just hire advisers, we develop them. If you’re ready to move from supporting the advice process to delivering advice yourself, click “Apply” and send us your CV and a short cover letter about your qualifications, your experience and where you want your career to go.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

Shortlisted candidates may be invited to complete a short video interview to help move things forward. This will be sent to you via Employment Hero, so please keep an eye on your inbox (and your junk folder, just in case) for an email from Employment Hero with all the details.
