About the opportunity:
As a Risk and Compliance Analyst, you’ll support the Legal, Risk and Compliance team to maintain and continuously improve risk management, compliance and control practices across the More and Tangerine business. This is a hands-on development role suited to someone who is organised, analytical and keen to build a career in risk and compliance within a regulated business.
Working closely with team members and stakeholders across the business, the role contributes to the identification, assessment and monitoring of risks, obligation and controls and supports assurance activities that provide confidence key controls are appropriately designed and operating effectively. This role also supports the ongoing implementation and use of the More’s enterprise risk management platform and contributes to practical initiatives that improve risk awareness, regulatory compliance and operational discipline.
You’ll be successful in this role if you:
Risk Management
- Have experience maintaining risk registers, controls and action plans, and supporting risk assessments, workshops and reviews.
- Can document, maintain and monitor key controls, risk treatment plans, procedures and practical tools in line with a Risk Management Framework.
Compliance Monitoring & Administration
- Have experience maintaining compliance obligations, controls, incidents, breaches and action registers, ensuring information remains accurate, complete and current.
- Can support compliance monitoring, evidence collection, regulatory reporting, policy reviews, attestations and training activities.
Reporting & Assurance
- Can assist in preparation of accurate reporting and insights, support the maintenance of control documentation, and contributes risk-control-obligation mapping and assurance activities.
- Have experience supporting control testing, audits, remediation tracking, and research into emerging risks, regulatory developments and compliance issues.
Stakeholder Support & Continuous Improvement
- Can build effective working relationships across the business and support stakeholders in understanding risk, compliance and control requirements.
- Are proactive in responding to queries, improving processes and contributing to the continuous improvement of risk, compliance and assurance frameworks.
About you:
We don’t expect you to tick every box but we’re looking for someone with a strong foundation across several of the following skills:
- 1-3 years’ relevant experience in risk, compliance, legal, audit, governance or business administration.
- An understanding of basic risk management, compliance or internal control concepts including the purpose of controls, risk assessments and assurance activities.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines and follow-up actions.
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyse information, identify control gaps and support practical recommendation for improvement.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders at different levels.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records and confidential information.
- A practical, curious and collaborative approach, with a willingness to learn and take ownership of assigned work.
Nice to have
- Experience in a regulated industry, particularly telecommunications, technology, financial services or utilities.
- Exposure to risk and control assessments, compliance monitoring, assurance reviews, audit activities and control testing.
- Interest in telecommunications regulation, privacy, cyber security, critical infrastructure or scam prevention.
- Tertiary qualification, or progress towards a qualification, in risk, law, business, commerce, accounting or a related discipline.
Key focus areas in your first few months:
You’ll focus on building context, creating visibility and delivering early impact. Your priorities will include:
- Risk Management – Support risk identification, assessment, documentation, monitoring and reporting activities
- Regulatory Change Implementation – Assist with the implementation of regulatory changes initiatives, including the development and maintenance of compliance registers, obligations libraries, and monitoring and reporting processes for key regulatory change programs.
- Compliance & Control Management – Support the identification, documentation and assessment of key controls that help manage regulatory and business risks
- Governance and Reporting – Support governance reporting, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.
