Description

About us

MicrotechDPS is an expert technology advisory and execution partner, shaping, securing, strengthening and scaling IT for businesses across every industry.

From our beginnings in regional Australia, we have grown into a national technology advisory delivering enterprise-grade solutions to organisations across diverse industries and operating models. Our regional origins remain central to our values and culture. We act with transparency, deliver practical value, and engage with a community mindset to act as an extension of our clients’ teams.

Simplifying the complex is why we exist.

About the role

Reporting to the Service Desk Manager, you will troubleshoot issues across a broad technology stack, own escalated requests and build the strong client relationships that underpin our advisory model.

This is a genuine growth role. You will deepen your technical expertise, gain exposure to project and infrastructure work, and build the track record that leads to Level 3.

What you’ll be doing

  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues across desktops, servers, cloud platforms and networks, remotely and onsite.
  • Own service requests end to end, keeping clients informed at every step.
  • Monitor client environments proactively and resolve issues before they affect the business.
  • Keep systems secure and reliable through maintenance, patching and upgrades.
  • Mentor Level 1 team members and share what you know.
  • Deliver infrastructure upgrades, migrations and client projects.
  • Build trusted relationships through clear, dependable communication.

Technologies you’ll work with

A modern, well-supported environment:

  • Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure
  • Windows Server and Active Directory
  • Exchange Online
  • VMware and Hyper-V
  • Fortinet firewalls and networking
  • Datto RMM, Datto BCDR and Autotask PSA

You will not need every one of these on day one. We will support you to build the rest.

About you

You enjoy solving problems, working with people, and making complex systems make sense. You bring:

  • 2+ years in a managed services or client-facing IT role.
  • Confident troubleshooting across Windows environments and core infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware, software, servers and networking.
  • A solid grasp of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, Microsoft 365, Azure, networking and virtualisation (VMware or Hyper-V).
  • Strong customer service, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • The ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and perform tasks that may require bending, kneeling, standing and sitting for extended periods.
  • A valid Class C driver’s licence, and a current National Police Check or the willingness to obtain one.

Why join MicrotechDPS

  • Enterprise-grade work, without the ego. Complex environments across diverse industries, delivered by a team that does things the right way.
  • Advisory and execution under one roof. Exposure to strategy and hands-on delivery, not one narrow slice of the stack.
  • Regional values, national reach. Transparency, accountability and a genuine commitment to the people and organisations we partner with.
  • Right-sized today, ready for tomorrow. We are growing, and we back your development with an annual training budget for courses and certifications.
  • A career you steer. A clear technical pathway from Level 2 to Level 3 and beyond.
  • Fair on-call, properly rewarded. Our on-call roster is shared in advance, with an allowance provided. You’ll typically be on call for just one week in every seven, helping you plan ahead and maintain work-life balance.
