Description

Mercure Sydney Parramatta is looking for an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance function of our hotel. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment, enjoys leading by example, and takes pride in ensuring our property is safe, compliant, and operating at its very best.

As Maintenance Manager, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences by maintaining our facilities to the highest standard while leading preventative maintenance programs, contractor management, and statutory compliance.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall maintenance and presentation of the hotel, ensuring all building systems, plant, equipment, and guest facilities are maintained safely and efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the day-to-day maintenance operations across the hotel.
  • Developing and managing preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Responding promptly to maintenance requests and operational priorities.
  • Managing contractors and ensuring works are completed safely, on time and within budget.
  • Overseeing statutory compliance, WHS requirements, fire safety systems and essential services.
  • Managing maintenance budgets and monitoring expenditure.
  • Conducting regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house facilities.
  • Working closely with all departments to minimise disruption and maximise guest satisfaction.
  • Driving sustainability initiatives and identifying opportunities to improve energy efficiency.
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records and compliance documentation.

About You

You are a proactive leader who enjoys solving problems and takes ownership of your work. You have a strong technical background combined with excellent communication skills and understand the importance of balancing operational needs with exceptional guest service.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a Maintenance Manager or senior maintenance leadership role within hospitality, accommodation or facilities management.
  • Strong knowledge of building services including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems and fire safety.
  • Sound understanding of Work Health & Safety legislation and statutory compliance.
  • Experience managing contractors, projects and maintenance budgets.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • A hands-on approach with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
  • Current driver’s licence.
