Role Type
Description
Hi, we’re Frank Digital, a Jaywing agency.
We’re not just another agency; we’re a multi award winning powerhouse of creativity and technology. Our team is a vibrant mix of talented creatives, innovative designers, strategic thinkers and cutting edge technologists. Together, we’re not just solving problems, we’re redefining the standards of digital excellence.
Our impact is evident in the calibre of clients who trust us to drive their digital transformation. We collaborate with some of the world’s most respected companies and have a robust pipeline of exciting projects on the horizon.
And we’re on the hunt for a Senior UX/UI Designer who shares our passion for excellence and innovation. Someone who can take the lead on complex work, set the standard for craft, and bring the designers around them along for the ride. If you’re ready to push boundaries, collaborate with the best, and help a team keep raising the bar, Frank Digital is the place for you.
Working alongside the Head of Experience Design, you’ll own the design direction on some of our biggest accounts, creating, developing and delivering intelligent, user centred digital experiences across websites, landing pages, banners, eDMs, mobile applications and interface designs. You’ll also be a key voice in how our mid and junior designers grow, through mentoring, critique and day to day coaching.
Your portfolio shows depth as well as range: original, engaging digital work, and the thinking behind it. It reflects a strong command of user experience, prototyping, user journey mapping, conversion rate optimisation and heuristic competitor analysis, with examples where you led the work end to end and can talk us through the decisions you made and why.
Day to day you’ll:
- Own the UX and UI direction on your projects, holding the quality bar for the work that leaves the studio.
- Lead projects end to end, from brief right through to delivery, across sketches, wireframes, site maps, user flows, prototypes and interface design.
- Mentor and develop our mid and junior designers through regular feedback, design critique, pairing and hands on coaching.
- Review and quality check the team’s work, lifting the standard of craft rather than simply correcting it.
- Tap into the knowledge of our PPC, CRO and SEO teams to ensure landing pages and websites are built to convert.
- Work closely with our internal development team, with enough technical understanding to make calls that are buildable as well as beautiful.
- Champion the user and bring bold, well reasoned ideas to clients, backed by research and evidence.
- Run workshops and present work directly to clients, confidently explaining and defending design decisions to senior stakeholders.
- Help shape how the design team works, improving our tools, processes and design systems as we grow.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 8+ years of experience in UX/UI or digital product design, including time in an agency or a fast paced in house team
- A track record of leading projects end to end and owning the design direction, not just executing someone else’s
- Experience mentoring, coaching or supervising mid and junior designers, and a genuine interest in bringing others on
- A user centred approach, grounding design decisions in research, usability and accessibility
- A sharp eye for detail and quality in both layout and typography
- Expert working knowledge of Figma, including building and maintaining design systems and component libraries
- A strong sense of initiative and the judgement to work autonomously on complex or ambiguous briefs
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to lead client conversations and influence senior stakeholders
- An organised, positive and hard working mindset, comfortable working in a fast paced, dynamic environment, either in a team or independently
- Comfortable working within creative and digital brand guidelines and interpreting briefs effectively
In return we’ll give you:
- A commitment to develop you and your career aspirations.
- A no blame culture.
- A focus on diversity & inclusion, sustainability, and mental wellbeing.
- Stunning office in the heart of Barangaroo close to the restaurants, bars, and the harbour swimming spot
- A hybrid working model.
- A fully stocked beer and wine fridge, impromptu BBQ lunches, sporting comps, team social activities, and a cracking end of year party.
- Enviable benefits such as
- Remote working; work from another time zone for up to 8 weeks per year
- Birthday leave
- A wellbeing day each year
So, if you’re a Senior UX/UI Designer who can juggle multiple briefs and competing deadlines, manage your own workload and priorities, lift the people around you, and wants to grow in unison with us, Jaywing would love to hear from you!
Jaywing are committed to building an inclusive and diverse culture, so if you’re doubting whether to apply for this role because you don’t meet every single requirement, we encourage you to still do so, there may be other opportunities with us where you are in fact the perfect candidate. Please let us know if any adjustments need to be made throughout the interview process and we will do our best to accommodate.
