- Experience as a Therapy Assistant/Support Worker in dementia care.
- Certificate III in Aged Care/Individual Support or Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent).

DEMENTIA CARE COMMUNITY SUPPORT WORKER
Locations all throughout Perth including:
Perth Central : TRAVEL REQUIRED To assist client with sensory experiences in A aged care facility. South Perth. Cannington, Vic Park
South East – Male requested for gym / exercises TRAVEL REQUIRED
Armadale/ Gosnell’s area Female only requested – lady for a variety of active activities in the community and assisting another lady with sensory activities – severe dementia in a facility.
Northern and Southern Suburbs- TRAVEL REQUIRED – MUSIC Skills- guitar and or Art skills valued.
Positions available for Therapy Assistants/Support Workers with experience in dementia care. The ideal applicant will have a passion and dedication to enriching the quality of life for those with early onset dementia and aged care clients living at home or in aged care residences. A warm and caring nature, reliability, and excellent communication skills are essential for this role. The applicant will need to be able to demonstrate initiative and the ability to follow directions given by Therapy Assistant Co-Ordinator as well as Occupational Therapists and/or Physiotherapists.
Duties will extend to activities related to a person’s interests, exercise and social needs, as well as providing emotional support. An applicant with a compassionate and patient nature is required and essential for the role. Hours will vary depending on your location and availability.
Hours:
1-7 days a week
Role shared – hours negotiable
Minimum Requirements:
Certificate III in Aged Care/Individual Support
Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent or willing to undergo training
Minimum 3 months’ experience in either caring or Therapy Assistant role
Current first aid and CPR certificate or willing to obtain one
Knowledge of current manual handing techniques
National Police Clearance (obtained within the last 12 months or willing to obtain)
NDIS Worker Screening Check no older than 5 years or willing to obtain one
C-class Drivers Licence
Reliable Car suitable for client travel
