Description

We are looking for a Software & Data Test Analyst to join our Product & Delivery team at Z Software. This is a permanent full-time opportunity based in our Surry Hills office.

This role is well suited to someone early in their software testing or data career who has strong attention to detail, enjoys solving problems and is keen to develop their skills in healthcare technology.

Role Purpose

As the Software & Data Test Analyst, you play a key role in supporting the quality and reliability of Z Software products.

Reporting to the Test & Delivery Manager and working across software testing and product data, you will execute test cases, identify and document defects, validate data and support recurring data-processing activities. You will work closely with team members in the Product and Delivery team, as well as our Support team, receiving guidance while building your knowledge of testing practices, pharmacy workflows and healthcare software.

This is a varied, hands-on role offering the opportunity to develop practical experience across the software development and delivery lifecycle while contributing to products used by pharmacies throughout Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, execute and document test cases for assigned software features, workflows, enhancements and releases.
  • Perform functional, regression, conformance, API and user acceptance testing, and retest resolved defects.
  • Validate software functionality against requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Process, validate and maintain product data, including supplier, regulatory and PBS data changes.
  • Identify, investigate and clearly document software defects, data-quality issues, risks and blockers, escalating where appropriate.
  • Support release readiness by providing clear updates on testing progress, outstanding issues and known risks.
  • Collaborate with your team members to investigate reported issues and deliver reliable release outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate test evidence, data records and procedures, while contributing to continuous improvements in testing and product-data processes.

About You

You are organised, curious and detail-oriented, with an interest in software quality and data accuracy. You enjoy investigating problems, following structured processes and producing work others can rely on.

You already have some experience in software testing, data processing, application support, pharmacy operations or another quality-focused environment. Just as importantly, you are motivated to learn and build your capabilities as part of a supportive, collaborative team.

You communicate clearly, ask questions when something is unclear and are comfortable managing assigned tasks and priorities with guidance. You take ownership of your work, recognise when an issue should be escalated and understand that reliable software and accurate data are especially important in healthcare.

  • Practical experience or foundational knowledge in software testing and/or data validation, or a related area.
  • An understanding of basic testing concepts such as functional testing and regression testing.
  • Confidence working with data and checking information for accuracy, completeness and inconsistencies.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to completing tasks.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and manage assigned priorities.
  • A willingness to learn new systems, processes and pharmacy workflows.
  • An interest in software quality, healthcare technology and positive customer outcomes.
