Description

  • Perth CBD role with 1-2 days WFH
  • A fast-paced role with variety every day
  • Shape talent strategy while staying hands-on in recruitment

MEC is looking for a Senior Recruitment Advisor to join our small, fast-paced People & Culture team.

This is a hands-on recruitment role. You will be responsible for delivering end-to-end recruitment while also building talent pipelines, undertaking talent mapping and providing market insights to the business.

Because we are a small team, you will need to be comfortable rolling up your sleeves, moving quickly and managing multiple priorities at once. One day you might be sourcing Mining Engineers, the next you could be mapping the market for Resource Geologists, conducting phone screens, interviewing with hiring managers and completing reference checks, often all in the same day.

We are looking for someone who enjoys that pace and variety, can quickly get across new roles and technical areas, and doesn’t need everything to be neatly handed to them.

About the role

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment across professional, technical and specialist roles.
  • Build proactive talent pipelines for priority, hard-to-fill and future-critical roles.
  • Develop and maintain talent maps and talent pools aligned to current and future business needs.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements and develop effective sourcing strategies.
  • Conduct candidate screening, interviews and assessment processes.
  • Provide market insights on talent availability, salary movements, competitor activity and candidate sentiment.
  • Analyse recruitment data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Produce recruitment reporting and insights to give leaders visibility of pipeline health and market conditions.
  • Use talent and market data to support workforce planning, resourcing and remuneration decisions.
  • Build strong relationships with leaders and act as a trusted advisor on recruitment strategy.
  • Identify opportunities to improve our recruitment processes, tools and candidate experience.

About you

You’re an experienced recruiter who enjoys being close to the action. You can move between strategic thinking and the practical work required to get a role filled. You will be someone who:

  • Has a minimum of 6 years of experience in recruitment, preferably within the mining or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of recruitment best practices and employment legislation.
  • Is comfortable working in a small team where everyone contributes.
  • Proficient in using applicant tracking systems and recruitment software.
  • Can manage multiple vacancies, priorities and stakeholders without losing track of the detail.
  • Is highly organised and able to prioritise quickly when things change.
  • Enjoys proactive sourcing and building relationships with candidates, rather than relying solely on job advertising.
  • Can quickly learn new industries, technical roles and candidate markets.
  • Is confident picking up the phone, having conversations and building talent networks.
  • Can work independently and use initiative when there isn’t a process or answer for everything.
  • Has strong end-to-end recruitment experience across professional, technical or specialist roles.
  • Can use recruitment data and market insights to provide practical advice to the business.
  • Has strong stakeholder management skills and confidence partnering with senior leaders.
