The Role – 12 Month Fixed Term Contract – Melbourne Based
This role is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination and execution of testing activities across technology initiatives and business change. Working closely with the Testing Lead, the role contributes to the delivery of high-quality solutions by ensuring changes are thoroughly tested and meet business and technical requirements prior to release.
The Test Analyst plays a key role in maintaining testing standards, improving testing processes and supporting successful project and BAU delivery.
Responsibilities
- Support the Testing Lead in the planning, coordination and delivery of testing activities across projects and BAU initiatives.
- Perform testing processes across all test phases, including system, integration, regression and supporting user acceptance testing, applying best practice testing principles.
- Prepare test case, execute tests, manage defects, analyse results and report on testing progress and outcomes.
- Ensure best-practice testing and quality engineering processes are followed, highlighting risks and inefficiencies, to ensure delivery of robust and reliable software.
- Identify testing risks, issues and process improvements, escalating where appropriate.
- Participate in defect management processes, including identifying, documenting issue steps and supporting triaging activities.
- Maintain testing artefacts and ensure quality standards are met throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, technology teams and external vendors to support successful solution delivery.
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the ongoing maturity of testing practices, including the design, development, and maintenance of automation test scripts and frameworks.
Formal Qualifications:
- ISTQB certification or equivalent is desirable.
Technical Capabilities & Professional Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in testing and quality assurance, within multi-discipline delivery (e.g. agile, waterfall) streams, in complex enterprise environments.
- Experience in the insurance domain is essential.
- Sound knowledge of quality engineering principles, and understanding of software testing methodologies and the software development lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience with Duck Creek Policy Administration, Duck Creek Billing, Salesforce CRM and integrated legacy systems is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in developing SQL queries to validate data within Snowflake and Clarity platforms is highly valued.
- Ability to extract test permutations from requirements, design test partitions, compile testing artefacts, and adhere to best-practice quality methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess the overall impact of issues and evaluate multiple scenarios to identify effective solutions, are highly regarded.
- Experience in appropriate work tools e.g. JIRA, testing tools e.g. Xray.
