We provide legal services to a premium client base throughout Australia and handle some of the most complex matters on the Gold Coast.

We are seeking an experienced Property Paralegal to support our team predominantly on property matters and, where appropriate, assist with corporate and commercial matters.

About the role:

Our Paralegal will be an integral part of our team and will play a key role in delivering high-quality legal services and ensuring property transactions progress efficiently and smoothly for our clients.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assisting lawyers with residential and commercial property transactions from commencement through to settlement, including preparing correspondence, contract documentation, disclosure documents and settlement documentation.
  • Ordering, reviewing and collating property searches and assisting with the preparation of compliant seller disclosure statements and buyer due diligence.
  • Preparing settlement statements, settlement figures and trust account authorities, liaising with financiers and other parties, and assisting with electronic settlements.
  • Preparing, lodging and registering documents through PEXA and the Queensland Titles Registry.
  • Preparation of draft stamp duty forms and draft lodgments with QRO.
  • Managing electronic files and original titles documents, proactively monitoring critical dates, conditions and transaction milestones to ensure matters progress efficiently and deadlines are met.
  • Maintaining accurate, organised and compliant file records in accordance with firm procedures and policies.
  • Proactively liaising with clients, solicitors, agents and other stakeholders throughout transactions to keep matters progressing and facilitate smooth and timely outcomes.
  • Assisting with commercial property, leasing, development and corporate and commercial matters where required.

About You:

  • At least one year of experience working as a property or conveyancing paralegal within a law firm.
  • Proven experience assisting with residential conveyancing matters from contract through to settlement.
  • A sound working knowledge of REIQ residential and commercial contracts and Queensland conveyancing processes.
  • Experience using PEXA and familiarity with Queensland Titles Registry requirements.
  • Strong organisational and file management skills, with the ability to proactively manage critical dates, deadlines and multiple matters.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and confidence liaising with clients and other stakeholders.
  • An advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, including styles, templates and cross-referencing.
  • Experience using legal practice management and document management systems.
  • Experience with commercial and corporate matters will be highly regarded but is not essential.
