Description

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Solicitor (1–5 years’ PAE) to join our Brisbane office within our growing commercial property and transactions practice.

This is an opportunity to work closely within a team who specialises in property, agribusiness and complex land and development transactions, gaining exposure to high-quality matters across a broad client base.

You will support a sophisticated portfolio of clients including schools, councils and institutional organisations, advising on property transactions and commercial matters within environments that often involve strict and complex governance frameworks.

This role offers exposure to a strong pipeline of work, including Pexa/PEXA property settlements, stamp duty, leasing and general commercial transactions, with the opportunity to develop specialist expertise in a supportive, high-performing team.

About the Role

In this role, you will be involved in a diverse mix of property and commercial matters, including:

  • Managing Pexa (PEXA) property settlements and stamp duty processes
  • Advising on commercial and retail leasing transactions, with exposure to a range of leasing structures
  • Supporting trustee and complex ownership structures (desirable but not essential)
  • Drafting and advising on general commercial agreements and transactions
  • Working on property-related matters for schools, councils and institutional clients
  • Navigating matters involving structured governance and regulatory frameworks (with training provided)
  • Collaborating closely with senior lawyers on complex property, development and transactional work

You will gain exposure to both day-to-day transactional work and more complex, high-value matters, developing strong technical capability and commercial insight.

About You

We are looking for a motivated and capable junior to mid-level lawyer who is keen to build a long-term career in commercial property and transactions.

You will bring:

  • 1–5 years’ PAE, ideally with exposure to property law and/or commercial transactions
  • Experience in Pexa settlements, stamp duty and leasing (commercial or retail preferred)
  • A foundation in general commercial agreements or transactional work
  • Strong drafting skills and attention to detail
  • A commercial mindset with the ability to provide practical, solutions-focused advice
  • The ability to work within structured and governance-heavy environments (or willingness to learn)
  • A collaborative approach and desire to learn from experienced practitioners

You may be a broadly trained commercial lawyer with an interest in property, or someone already building a property-focused practice looking to deepen their expertise.

Exposure to agribusiness, development or marina-related work, or trustee leasing structures, will be viewed favourably but is not essential.
