The Role

We are currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic candidate to commence a full-time Fitter / Machinist Apprenticeship in 2027, based at our Parkes NSW Branch.

 

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to undertake work experience with MCA Engineering during 2026, giving you the chance to experience the workshop, meet the team and get a head start on developing practical skills before your apprenticeship begins.

 

Working in our modern, fully equipped workshop, you’ll develop the practical skills, knowledge and experience required to successfully complete your trade qualification. Where appropriate, you’ll also have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience on our project sites.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist tradespeople with workshop activities and mechanical fitting work
  • Follow directions and complete tasks safely and to a high standard
  • Learn and develop practical mechanical fitting skills
  • Gain exposure to a variety of mining, mechanical and industrial projects
  • Assist with the assembly, maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment
  • Where appropriate, gain hands-on experience on project sites

 

Requirements

  • Ability to listen, follow instructions and learn new skills
  • Genuine interest and commitment to completing your trade certificate
  • A willingness to work to quality standards and meet expectations
  • Computer skills and the ability to learn new technologies and tools
  • A pre-trade course or relevant work experience would be highly regarded
