Summary:
As an NDIS Support Coordinator, you will play a vital role in assisting participants to navigate the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and achieve their individual goals. Based in Sydney, this part-time contract position (25 hours per week) requires a dedicated professional who can effectively engage with stakeholders, participants, and their families, ensuring they receive the necessary support and resources. Your expertise will contribute significantly to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities within the community.
Maverick Supports works with complex psychosocial clients which can present its own challenges, therefore you must be able to hit the ground running with at least 2 years experience. You can work from home with one day a month expected in Mount Annan to catch up with the team.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and implement NDIS plans for participants, ensuring alignment with their goals and needs.
- Engage and liaise with stakeholders, including participants, families, and service providers.
- Mentor and guide support coordination staff to enhance service delivery.
- Monitor and review participant progress, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Provide information and support to participants regarding their rights and responsibilities under the NDIS.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with NDIS guidelines.
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions for participants and their families to enhance understanding of the NDIS.
Qualifications:
- Certificate IV in Community Services or higher (or related discipline)
- Degree in Psychology or Degree in Social Work
- 2+ years experience in NDIS support coordination or similar roles
- Experience engaging and liaising with stakeholders, participants, and their families
- Experience mentoring and guiding support coordination staff
- Strong understanding of NDIS framework, guidelines, and operational aspects
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Knowledge of NDIS plans, services, and participant goals
