We are seeking a strong communicator with experience in the electrical, construction or broader trade industry, ideally with an interest or experience in Work Health and Safety (WHS).  You will thrive on being out in the field, connecting with members, understanding their needs, and providing tailored support. This would be a great opportunity for someone to step off the tools and apply their expertise in a new and impactful way. 

The Role  

You will act as a trusted advisor, relationship manager and ambassador for MEA, being the key conduit between our members and the business. With some travel across SE QLD, you will provide valuable support to help members navigate a fast-changing industry.

 Key responsibilities include: 

• Providing guidance on legislation, regulations, Codes of Practices and Standards    
• Delivering and growing regular fee-for-service offerings, including safety meetings, safety system audits, tailored safety documentation and consultations (i.e. SWMS, policies & procedures) 
• Promoting MEA services and products, including our safety program CME (Compliance Made Easy) 
• Mentoring and training members whilst delivering business growth programs such as the Master program 
• All activities being focused on providing value for members and being member first

What we are looking for: 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with our members (Essential) 
• A recognised trade or construction related qualification is highly desirable. An Electrical Fitter/Mechanic qualification would be highly valued but is not essential   
• Experience within the construction, electrical contracting and/ or related trade wholesale industry (Highly Desirable) 
• A certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (WHS) (or the ability/willingness to undertake) (Desirable) 
• An understanding of legislation, standards and good safety practices (Desirable) 
• Track record of coaching and/or mentoring experience (Desirable)
