Description

Summary:

This part-time Business Development role is responsible for driving membership growth for Master Builders ACT by converting warm leads, developing new prospects and building a strong, sustainable membership pipeline. The role will engage businesses across the ACT building and construction industry, clearly communicating the value of Master Builders ACT membership and the broader services available across the Master Builders group.

Working closely with the membership and broader internal teams, the role will focus on relationship-based business development, consistent prospect follow-up and accurate CRM management. Success will be measured through the recruitment of approximately 4–6 additional new members each month, alongside maintaining a healthy pipeline and strong visibility of future membership opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Convert warm leads into new members
  • Identify and engage high-potential non-members across the sector
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospects
  • Nurture leads through consistent follow-up and value-led engagement
  • Clearly articulate the MBA ACT value proposition, including group offerings (training, insurance, fidelity fund, advocacy)
  • Maintain accurate and timely CRM records of all interactions
  • Work closely with internal teams to align messaging and leverage existing networks

Performance Targets:

  • Recruit 4–6 new members per month (in addition to organic growth of ~4–6/month)
  • Maintain high-quality CRM data and pipeline visibility

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in sales, membership, or business development
  • Strong understanding of relationship-based selling
  • Ability to confidently communicate value propositions
  • Highly organised with strong follow-through
  • Familiarity with CRM systems

Construction or industry association experience advantageous but not essential
